Crime Fiction In Far Away Places. Does your mystery or thriller have an international setting? You you enjoy reading crime fiction set in far away places. Join us as a panel of accomplished authors discuss the who, what, when, where and how of writing international settings into their fiction. Guest Panelists:

Ann Saxton Reh has lived in six foreign countries. Her mystery series features David Markam, a diplomat often on the trail of a killer in one of those exotic cultures. A gathering of worldly expatriates challenges him in Meditating Murder, while Arabia and India are the locales of his forthcoming adventure, Dead or in India.

Lynda Markham, Writing as L.D. Markham, one of our Cap Crimes members and author of Murder in Costa Rica, where she visited in 2013 and decided to set a murder mystery there; later she encountered several amazing real-life coincidences that she wove into her fiction.

Sherry Joyce’s murder mystery, The Dordogne Deception, is based in France’s southwestern region, the Dordogne, plus in England. Her Dangerous Duplicity is set in France and she’s currently at work on the sequel, titled Dangerous Justice, set in Mallorca and France.

Michele Drier’s ten-book Kandesky Vampire Chronicles are set all over Europe, Russia and nearby and Stain on the Soul, the second in her Stained Glass cozy series, is set in England.

June Gillam’s House of Eire, book 3 in the Hillary Broome suspense novel series, follows Hillary as she drives Ireland hunting for her Irish friend Bridget’s killer.
